국제공정무역기구, UN의 지속가능개발목표 달성을 위한 기금 확보
유럽연합(EU)은 지속가능개발목표 달성을 위한 전략적 파트너인 국제공정무역기구에 다년간 지원금을 제공한다. 이 기금은 UN의 지속가능개발목표 달성을 위해 나아가는 공정무역의 역할을 인정해 지급된다. 기금을 통해 대륙별 공정무역 생산자 네트워크, 공정무역 국가사무소, 본부에서 수행하는 2025 전략 개발, 거버넌스 구축, 여성, 청년, 노동자들의 역량강화, 재무 및 정보 통신 기술 시스템, 기획, 프로그램 운영, 공정무역의 영향력 모니터링, 평가, 학습 등의 여러 활동을 강화하고 지원한다. 국제공정무역기구는 전 세계의 정부, 비정부기구, 기업 등 여러 주체들과 소득 및 생활 임금, 기후 변화와 인권을 포함한 주요 분야에 대해 협력하고 있으며, 특별히 본 지원금은 유럽연합과 국제공정무역기구가 2015년에 체결한 파트너십 협약에 의해 집행됐다.
Fairtrade secures funding from the EU to advance the Sustainable Development Goals
The European Union has confirmed a multi-year grant to Fairtrade International to serve as a key strategic partner for the EU’s commitments to Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships to support the other 16 goals. The funding will support the three regional Fairtrade Producer Networks, the Fair Trade Advocacy Office and Fairtrade International to strengthen our operations and institutional capacity in the following areas: Internal governance, including 2025 strategy development, capacity building and expanding inclusive representation of women, youth and workers in Producer Network governance bodies, operations, including finance and information and communication technology systems, planning, programme management, and leadership, monitoring, evaluation and learning work to assess Fairtrade’s impact and inform future directions. This grant was awarded under the EU Framework Partnership Agreement that Fairtrade International entered into in 2015.

공정무역 유기농 코코넛 오일 스틱 출시
공정무역 청년벤처 ‘차카다’는 국제공정무역기구 한국사무소의 청년벤처지원 프로그램을 통해 기존 코코넛 오일의 단점들을 개선한 ‘차카다 공정무역 유기농 코코넛 오일 스틱’을 출시했다. 제조공법을 통해 향에 대한 거부감을 줄이고 스틱형으로 제조해 휴대성을 높였으며, 3중 포장으로 빛과 공기를 차단해 산패로부터 안전하게 제작됐다. 코코넛 오일은 피부와 다이어트에 효과적일뿐 아니라 모유 성분인 라우르산이 50% 이상 함유돼 있어 면역 체계 형성에도 도움을 준다. 차카다 공정무역 유기농 코코넛 오일은 스리랑카의 공정무역 인증 생산자조합 ‘감파하’에서 생산하며, 공정무역으로 얻은 수익 및 추가 장려금으로 지역 사회 어린이들을 위한 유치원을 짓고 장학금을 지급하며, 농업 교육 사업을 통해 경쟁력 있는 농산물을 생산하고 빈약한 시설에 투자하고 있다.

Fairtrade organic coconut oil sticks
Fairtrade Company 'CHAKADA ' has developed 'Chakada Fairtrade Organic Coconut Oil Stick' which improved the inconveniences of existing Cononut oil and started to sell through crowd funding channels. ‘CHAKADA’ analysed and found out that the existing coconut oil is hard to carry, keep fresh, and it has too strong flavour etc. Thus, in order to improve portability and simplicity, they put this oil in the stick pouch which is made of triple packing for shielding light and air, and made safe from rancidity. Coconut oil is not only effective for skin and diet, but also contains more than 50% of lauric acid, which also helps to form the immune system. CHAKADA Fairtrade Organic coconut oil is produced in Sri Lanka's Fairtrade certified producers organization. The profits earned from Fairtrade and Fairtrade Premium is used to build kindergartens for local children, provide scholarships, and invests in poor facilities.

공정무역 바리스타 클래스 운영
국제공정무역기구와 중구청이 함께 ‘공정무역 바리스타 클래스’를 운영한다. 작년부터 시작한 ‘공정무역 바리스타 클래스’는 아시아 최초로 이탈리안 바리스타 챔피언을 강사로 초청하고, 공정무역 원두를 활용해 성공적으로 운영했다. 올해도 공정무역에 대한 소개와 더불어 8회 차 교육을 통해 실제 바리스타로 활동할 수 있도록 지원한다. 이를 통해 국제공정무역기구와 중구청은 시민들에게 홈 바리스타 혹은 창업을 위한 바리스타 자격을 부여하고, 공정무역에 대해 배워 윤리적 소비 및 생활을 실천할 수 있는 기회를 마련한다. 다음 바리스타 클래스 모집 안내는 중구청 홈페이지를 통해 확인할 수 있으며, 사전 신청으로 진행된다.

Fairtrade Korea and Jung-gu is providing 'Fairtrade Barista Class'. Since last year, Fairtrade Korea has invited the first Italian Barista Champion as a lecturer for this class and has successfully operated using Fairtrade coffee bean. In addition to introducing Fairtrade, it provides information and chance to practice that can make attendees barista through 8 week course. As a result, students can become as barista for opening their own cafe or home barista, and learned about Fairtrade and had opportunities to practice ethical consumption in their daily life. ORNA's Wild Lingonberry Jam and Wild Bilberry Jam
Lingonberry and bilberry is famous as superfood especially in northern Europe. Two jams made of these lingonberry and bilberry were released in Korea. ORNA's Wild Lingonberry Jam and Wild Bilberry Jam are produced through low-temperature compression and pasteurization without the addition of any preservatives or sugars to preserve nutrients. Lingonberry is a berry called ‘Nordic red gold’ that has been proven to have an effect on antioxidation, detoxification, carcinogenesis and anti-aging.
