국제공정무역기구, 2018 연례보고서 발간
국제공정무역기구의 2018년 연례보고서, ‘Working together for fair and sustainable trade’가 발간됐다. 보고서에 따르면 공정무역 제품의 전 세계 판매량은 2017년 8% 증가한 85억 유로(약 11조 원)이며, 농부 및 생산조합에게 지급된 공정무역 프리미엄은 1억 7800만 유로(약 2300억 원)다. 2017년 국제공정무역기구는 75개국의 160만 명 이상의 농민들과 함께 일했으며, 공정무역 마크가 부착된 3만여 가지의 제품이 전 세계 150개국에서 판매됐다. 주요 공정무역 인증제품의 판매량 또한 크게 증가해 코코아 57%, 설탕 30%, 커피 15%, 바나나 11%가 증가했다. Global CEO Dario는 “국제공정무역기구는 정부, 시민사회, 기업, 농부, 노동자, 소비자들과 함께 소농민, 생산자들에게 지속 가능한 소득이 현실이 되도록 만들 것”이라고 밝혔다.
Fairtrade International Global opens annual report
Global sales of Fairtrade products rose by 8 percent to nearly €8.5 billion in 2017, generating estimated premiums of €178 million for farmer and worker organizations, Fairtrade International’s annual report shows today. During 2017, Fairtrade worked with more than 1.6 million farmers and workers across 75 countries. Some 30,000 different products with the FAIRTRADE Mark were available in 150 countries worldwide. Sales volumes of key Fairtrade products also grew significantly in 2017. According to Global CEO Soto Abril, “we will work with governments, civil society, businesses, farmers, workers, and consumers to make sustainable incomes a reality.”

국제공정무역기구 한국사무소는 전 세계 14개 공정무역 인증 커피 생산자 조합의 대표와 조합원을 초청해 2018 서울카페쇼에 참가했다. 국내 커피 관련 업체들과 60개 이상의 B2B 미팅을 진행했고, 각 산지 별로 11번의 커핑을 진행했다. 행사를 통해 윤리적이고 지속 가능할 뿐만 아니라 품질 좋은 공정무역 인증 커피의 맛과 향을 확인하는 기회를 마련했다. 또한 국제공정무역기구 독일 본부의 최고가치창출책임자(Chief Value Officer, CVO), 대륙 별 공정무역 생산자연합네트워크의 대표들이 직접 공정무역 커피의 영향력과 비전을 소개하는 공정무역 커피 세미나를 진행했다.
Fairtrade Korea joins 2018 Seoul Cafe Show
Fairtrade Korea invited representatives and members of Fairtrade certified coffee producer organizations from all over the world to participate in the 2018 Seoul Cafe Show. We have held more than 60 business meetings with Korean coffee companies and 11 cupping sessions to provide an opportunity to check the taste and flavor of Fairtrade certified coffee which is ethical as well as good quality. In addition, the Chief Value Officer (CVO) at the headquarters of the Fairtrade International and the representatives of the Producer Networks attended and gave speech in Fairtrade Coffee Seminar, which directly introduces the influence and vision of Fairtrade Coffee.
