코코아 농민들을 위한 국제공정무역기구의 노력
세계적으로 코코아가 가격이 하락하면서 코코아 생산자들과 지속 가능한 소득에 대해 논의하기 위해 국제공정무역기구는 베를린에서 열린 세계 코코아 컨퍼런스에 참석했다. 코코아 공급망 관련 1500명 이상의 대표가 모여 주요 문제를 논의했다. 국제공정무역기구의 글로벌 CEO인 Darío Soto Abril은 초콜릿 브랜드 Ritter Sport와 Choba Choba의 대표와 함께 ‘윤리적인 코코아 거래는 신화인가 현실인가’라는 주제의 세션에 패널로 참가했다. 또한 지속가능성 분야의 수석 고문인 Carla는 실제 수입과 생계를 위한 비용간의 격차와 이를 좁히기 위한 해결책, 지속 가능한 코코아에 대한 공정한 가격을 위한 구체적인 이행방안에 대해 강조했다.
Keeping a focus on farmers and incomes of cocoa industry
To help keep farmers and incomes in the spotlight, Fairtrade attended at the World Cocoa Conference in Berlin. More than 1,500 representatives from across the cocoa value chain are gathering to discuss key issues. Fairtrade International CEO Darío Soto Abril gave a speech on a panel entitled ‘Is the ethical cocoa trade a myth or reality?’ along with representatives from chocolate brands Ritter Sport and Choba Choba. On the same day, Senior Advisor for Sustainable Livelihoods Carla Veldhuyzen van Zanten emphasized the gap between current incomes and a living income, possible solutions, and the need for concrete commitments to move the sector towards a fair price for sustainable cocoa.

국제공정무역기구 한국사무소, 한국프랜차이즈산업협회와 MOU 체결
한국프랜차이즈산업협회가 국제공정무역기구와 함께 프랜차이즈 업계에 공정무역을 확산시키고 ‘지속 가능한 발전’을 위해 노력하기로 했다. 그 일환으로 한국프랜차이즈산업협회는 공정무역기구 한국사무소와 상호협력을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다. 협회는 국제공정무역기구 한국사무소와 함께 향후 회원사들을 대상으로 공정무역 관련 홍보, 공정무역 인증 원료와 완제품 소싱 및 제품개발, 공정무역 인증제품 소비촉진 운동, 우수공정무역소비기업 인증 및 시상, 공정무역인증제품 및 가맹사업의 해외수출·진출, 협회·회원사의 해외 공정무역 관련 조합·단체 방문 등에 나설 예정이다.
Fairtrade Korea - Korea Franchise Association singed an MOU
Fairtrade Korea and Korea Franchise Association has decided to raise awareness of Fairtrade to the franchise industry and to make efforts for 'sustainable development'. As part of that effort, Fairtrade Korea and KFA signed an MOU for mutual cooperation. The association, together with Fairtrade Korea, will promote the Fairtrade’s vision and products, source raw materials and finished products and develop new products to the members. Also they will accelerate the consumption of Fairtrade certified products, and visit associations and companies related Fairtrade in overseas.

Ibis Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun introduced 'So Fair, So Sweet' Fair Trade Room package. The package provides gift box with Fairtrade certified products including tea, beverages, energy bars, cookies, and beauty mask sheets. They are made up of safe, organic certified products that can be enjoyed by both grown up and children. After the Fair Trade Hotel meeting which is held in Jung-gu Office, the Ibis Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun and Fairtrade Korea have been discussing the use of Fairtrade certified products in the hotel and more Fairtrade certified products will be introduced at this hotel in near future.

Oxfam Fairtrade’s four organic bars are released in Korean market and loved by consumers.
